Through abstract two- and three-dimensional installations, this series uses personal history and memory as a framework to capture fluid, ephemeral experiences and facilitate emotional healing between past and present.

About the Artist

Through multi-dimensional installation art, Watson explores how personal histories serve as a framework for memory, time, and emotional restoration. Working across both two- and three-dimensional media, her practice investigates the layered, fluid, and ephemeral nature of recollection. By integrating abstract forms, recurring motifs, and personal photographs, Watson engages in a process of visual preservation, using the creative act as a vehicle for self-healing, mending past relationships, and bridging the distance between past and present.

In her work, two-dimensional pieces capture specific motifs to link personal and collective memories, while three-dimensional structures reflect the tactile, dedicated labor required for deep emotional healing. Together, these installations transform personal vulnerability into a shared space for reflection and renewal.

Lillian Watson is currently obtaining her BFA from the Columbus College of Art & Design. She is planning on studying at the University of Cincinnati to get her MFA & MAAE in the fall of 2027. Throughout her high school and college years, Watson has displayed work at the 2023 & 2024 Congressional Art Competition, the Tiffin Art Guild, CCAD Chroma, Byers Gallery, DSB Gallery, Fort Hayes Shot Tower, Pinwheel Gallery, DAAL 2026 Spring Show, Fresh A.I.R. Gallery, and Human Hearts Studios.
